A domain through its lifecycle: registered, positioned, sold. The same domain name appears at three stages of work — registered as raw inventory, positioned with deliberate effort, then sold. Visual weight grows across the stages; the final stage is accent-colored to mark realized value. acme.ai REGISTERED acme.ai POSITIONED acme.ai SOLD

What domain investing is, in 2026

A trade with rules. The rules just changed.

Domain investing is the trade of buying, holding, and selling internet addresses as appreciating digital assets. Names are inventory. Inventory has acquisition cost, renewal carry, and an exit price — the same shape as any other asset class, with one difference: a domain is a single unit, and there is exactly one of each.

AI shifted which names matter. Verb-form .ai domains, agentic two-word stems, and category authority on .com all repriced upward between 2023 and 2025, while long-tail keyword stacks and exact-match SEO assets quietly lost their bid. The names that travel in 2026 are the ones a buyer can describe in a sentence — a product, a category, a verb — not the ones that game a search algorithm.

A four-letter .ai registered in early 2023 for $11 sold in late 2024 for mid-five figures. Same name, same registrant — only the buyer pool changed. The work cycle is one sentence: acquire signal, position deliberately, exit when buyer awareness is high.

Every chapter of the course is one of the rules behind that sentence, written down.

Every tier has a floor and a ceiling. The course covers all of them — what to look for, what to pay, when to walk.

About the course

A practitioner's reference, not a primer.

Most domain courses teach the surface — what a domain is, where to register, how to list it. DNBlackBook starts where those end. It's the patterns, judgments, and tradeoffs you only see after a long time spent buying, holding, and selling names.

Three decades of decisions, organized into something teachable for the first time. Written for working investors and serious newcomers — not for the audience that needs to be told what a TLD is.

What's inside

Four parts.

01

Acquisition

How to find undervalued names before the market does. The filters, signals, and auction patterns that separate serious investors from tourists.

Signal vs noise. Eighty percent of what surfaces in handreg drops, aftermarket listings, and expired auctions is junk. The work is the filter — pattern recognition that AI tooling can sharpen but cannot replace.

02

Valuation

A consistent mental model for pricing names across the full market spectrum — and knowing when to hold, sell, or walk away.

The price ladder. Comparables, lease-to-own terms, and AI-readable name patterns each set a different floor. A single-word .com prices differently from a verb-form .ai or a three-letter brandable — and the buyers in each tier rarely overlap.

03

Exit

Outbound sales, broker relationships, marketplace positioning, and how to structure deals that actually close.

Leverage. When to send outbound, how to triage inbound, how escrow protects both sides, and when to hold the line on a number you can defend with comparables. Walking away is a position.

04

Domains in the age of AI

AI is reshaping which names get bought, which get dropped, and which quietly become worth ten times what they were last year. How to read the shift before the crowd catches on.

The 2024 inflection. .ai became liquid in a way no new TLD had since .com. Agentic verbs and two-word stems started pricing by buyer intent, not keyword volume — and the patterns that travel now are different from the patterns that traveled in 2019.

The work

What this actually looks like, day to day.

A domain investor doesn't just register names and wait. The work is a continuous loop — find, judge, hold, position, negotiate, close. The course covers each stage in depth. Here's the shape of it.

Acquire01Acquire Evaluate02Evaluate Hold03Hold Position04Position Negotiate05Negotiate Exit06Exit

Most courses teach the first two stages and skip the rest. The middle three — hold, position, negotiate — are where the money actually lives. That's where most of DNBlackBook's pages are spent.

Who's writing this

Rami Steitiyeh.

I bought my first domain in 1999. I've been buying, selling, and watching the market every year since — through the post-bubble drought, the .com renaissance, the new-TLD experiments, the rise of the aftermarket, and now the AI shift that's rewriting what a name is worth.

DNBlackBook is the course I wish had existed when I started. It doesn't talk down to beginners. It doesn't waste a working investor's time. It's the reference I've been writing in my head for two decades, finally on paper.

Who this is for — and who it isn't.

The course is for people who want to learn the domain trade end to end — sourcing, valuation, negotiation, exit — with a 2026 perspective on what AI changed and what it didn't. It assumes you can spend $50 to $500 a month on inventory and treat losses as tuition. It is not a get-rich path, a side hustle promise, or a tool for buying lottery-ticket TLDs. If you want a system you can run for years, you'll find one. If you want a hack, you won't.

Three steps: discover, position, exit.

Founders reservation

One step beyond the waitlist.

A paid reservation tier is being prepared. It will lock in 50% off the launch price plus 24-hour priority access before public opening. Payment options are being wired in — the tier opens shortly. Join the waitlist above to be notified the moment it does.

Questions

Anticipated.

  • When does the course launch?

Before year end 2026. We'll email everyone on the list once, the day it opens.

  • Can I reserve a founders spot now?

A paid reservation tier is being prepared and will activate shortly. It will lock in 50% off the launch price, plus 24-hour priority access before public opening and entry to the founders-only Q&A. For now, the free waitlist is the only signup — join it and we'll notify you the moment reservations open.

  • How long is the material?

Self-paced. Roughly 8 to 10 hours of structured lessons, plus a reference section you'll come back to.

  • Is this for beginners?

It works as an entry point, but it's denser than most beginner material. New investors will skip three years of mistakes. Experienced investors will find patterns they haven't seen written down before.

  • Will there be a community?

Yes — founding members get access to a private group at no extra cost.
